Marcel’s musical journey began in the schoolyard, jamming on bass with classmates and quickly falling in love with the instrument. He soon grew into a versatile performer, playing in numerous bands around Auckland and covering everything from school balls and birthday parties to large corporate events.

With over 40 years of live and studio experience, Marcel anchors Rewind with solid bass grooves and a sharp ear for detail. His vocal range allows him to sing classic hits from artists like Bowie to Tom Petty, while also completing the three-part harmonies that Rewind are renowned for. As the band’s sound engineer and a key part of the rhythm section, Marcel helps shape the band’s overall sound. He loves making music with a group of friends and playing to an audience that’s having a great time.

Ted’s musical journey began in his teens with The Brakes, a rock’n’roll band that sparked a lifelong love of performing. He later played with The Edge, a four-piece rock covers band that gigged throughout the North Island, and went on to form Sammy and the Trog, performing both as a full band and a duo.

As a guitarist and vocalist, Ted brings years of experience and a genuine love for classic hits including plenty of Kiwi favourites to every Rewind performance. Together with Sam and Marcel, he’s part of the band’s vocal team, blending harmonies and sharing lead duties to help shape the band’s signature sound.

Sam picked up the guitar at age 12 and quickly discovered a natural talent for music. She began her journey as a solo guitarist, but it wasn’t long before her voice took centre stage. After fronting Sammy and the Trog, she developed a reputation for her ability to deliver strong lead vocals and create rich harmonies that lift the entire band’s sound.

Having performed for years as a duo with Ted, Sam now leads the vocal charge in Rewind, bringing a confident, engaging presence to every show. Her vocal range and style allow her to move effortlessly between genres. From heartfelt country ballads to punchy rock classics, including favourites by Pat Benatar and other iconic artists. Whether it’s a slow groove or a high energy hit, Sam delivers with clarity, emotion, and style.

Grant picked up the sticks at age 6 and was classically trained through his early years, performing in youth orchestras, brass bands, and pipe bands. By 17, he was playing with Kount Five Plus Two in New Plymouth, working the DB pub circuit across Taranaki and gaining valuable live experience.

Over the years, Grant has played in numerous bands and still keeps in touch with many of the musicians he gigged with during his college days. His career highlights include opening for legendary acts like Pat Benatar, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, America, Hello Sailor, and Jordan Luck.

Now part of Rewind, Grant brings solid drumming and vocal harmonies to the band’s sound. His favourite genres span classic rock from the '70s, '80s, and '90s and his experience and musicality help drive the rhythm and vocal blend that audiences enjoy.

David picked up the guitar at age 11, jamming with schoolmates and forming his first band, a folk trio in Melbourne. His musical path soon shifted toward rock, playing in covers bands across Brisbane and Victoria, including Z28, The Accelerators, and Border Bunch. After moving to New Zealand, he continued performing with local acts, including the Bakelite Brothers.

David’s playing is shaped by the legendary guitarists of classic rock drawing inspiration from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Santana, and The Moody Blues. He’s equally at home shifting from a rock sound to rock’n’roll or rockabilly, bringing tone, feel, and decades of experience to every performance. His style adds colour and character to the Rewind sound.
